Photo's

Hi Everyone,,
I went to see my cute little grandson last week,, I don't get to see him much as he lives quite a drive away. And he remembered me and his grandad! We got a great big smile when he saw us! He can't say Nanny yet, so he just calls me Cazz!! And he tries to call grandad Grandad, but fails and says G'dad! My grandson and I were waiting by the automatic doors in a music shop for Grandad, and all he (grandson) was doing was watching the automatic doors opening and closing when people came past,,,, and he was giggling his little head off!!! And remember the RaaRaa toy I knitted him,,, and he didn't want,, he loves it now!
I have received a nice pile of fabrics from an online friend in France,,, sample pieces of cotton and furnishing fabrics. One name is Laura Ashley,,,

Not sure what I am going to do with them yet,, but I want to make a bag of some sort, but not one I have made already. I want to make a bag that will suit the fabric!!
The photo above is an ATC that Angela made for me for a swap on the Popular Patchwork forum,, it is lovely!
The next picture is of a bookmark that I made for a swap on the PP forum, guess who it is for????
And the last is a bookmark from Pam and an ATC from Mal,, same forum as before.

Makes!

Why is it that deciding on a Blog post title can be so difficult sometimes???
Anyway, I have made a bookmark using plastic canvas, Rhodes stitch and an idea from a craft show.
Rhodes stitch is very heavy on the thread, particularly on plastic canvas, as I needed to use 3 threads together to fill the holes. I stitched some fabric to the back, as it was a little untidy!!
I have also been trying a new craft, Tunisian crochet. The Tunisian hook is a cross between a knitting needle and a crochet hook. It has a hook on one end and a stopper, like a needle on the other end. And it (Tunisian crochet) can be done using a double ended long crochet hook too!

This liitle swatch is done with the Tunisian simple stitch and Tunisian Purl. It gives the piece a nice texture. No idea what I'll be making from using this new found craft yet, though the book that Jill (off the Popular Patchwork forum) let me have has a few patterns in it.
On Saturday, I went to a ButtonFest at Barrington Court and bought a few buttons,, just because,,,
They were very reasonably priced,,, the little packet of lilac buttons came from the quilt shop at the same place.
On the Popular Patchwork forum, I am in an ATC swap,, and have made
this for my swapee! The theme was freechoice,, and I normally have a hard time with that. But not with this one,, I just went to my 'stash' of bits,, pulled out a few buttons and the leaf, thought 'Yep, that looks good' and away I went. It is all hand stitched.

Finished!!

Well, I have finally finished the scarf that I started in Sept. 2011. And what with the cold weather we are having in the UK, I will probably be using it soon!

I lost count the amount of times I had to undo some knitting, either because I lost a few stitches or gained some.
I went to Exeter on Friday, to a Crafts4Crafters show,, as I am getting interested in other crafts such as cross-stitch, embroidery etc. It was fun to look around, and spend a little money,, not a lot. I really need to buy 'time', so if any one has any spare,,,,,.

The top picture shows a redwork design for a quilt, and the other one are 'bits' that I bought, just because!
I am working on a little bookmark at the moment, from an idea I got from the show. And whilst I am watching
Nick Cage in Ghost Rider this afternoon, I think I'll work on my Hexie quilt. Been working on it for nearly 3 years,, nowhere near finishing it yet. I'll ley you see some pictures next time!!
