More Days Out!

I have reached the end of my two weeks off work,,, back to the grindstone on Tuesday! My DH and I didn't go away but spent the time visiting places we like and a few new ones. I must admit that we did not argue in the two weeks together! Our working hours are so that I finish and he just starts, so we don't really see much of each other,, So when we do have time together we enjoy it!!

These first three photos are of the Severn Bridge in to Wales,, Cardiff Indoor Market, and a statue of Elvis!
The photo of the bridge was taken whilst DH was driving,, and I was finding the £6 for the toll! We went to Cardiff, cos we have never been before. There were loads of shops,,,, actually a few too many,, but next time we go it will be to see the Castle and the other historic 'bits'!!

The above photos were taken in Langport, Somerset! We have lived in the area for 3 years and never visited the local towns! The houses in the first two photos, my DH tells me, are eco houses.

Very nice churches in Langport (forgotten this ones name), and also a Hanging Chapel, where they used to hang convicts in years gone by, and has connections with the Masons!
I have done a little bit of knitting and sewing,, I have made
these mitts using a pattern that Jane put on her blog! Turned out okay I think! And I have been working on a wallhanging for my quilt groups challenge. It has to be a 16" square wallhanging using a month of the year, and as there are 12 in the group we had a month each! Mine is May,, and here is a little taster,,,
Can't say much more about it in case one of my quilt group reads this!!

A Day Out!

No Craftiness to be shown in this post,,, may be I should change the title of my blog!
DH and I are on holiday from work,, so have decided to visit a few places that we like. Yesterday was Salisbury. A lovely city, with a great cathedral.

As we were walking around the exterior, we came to some empty statue plinths,,, with one surprising addition,,,
Here's a closer look,,
We couldn't stop laughing, think it is great!!
Of course I had to bag a few bargains,, some fat quarter bundles,
£3.33 from the FabricLand shop in Salisbury,, and a book from The Works,
It wasn't a bad day, weather wise. It was rather mild, didn't need the gloves all the time. When we went to The Maltings a young lady was trying to feed the ducks, but the pigeons had other ideas! They were landing on her and trying to get in to the bag with the bread. Poor ducks hardly got any.

Progress,,,

Well, here we are in the 2nd week of the New Year, and I have been quite a lazy wotsit!! I have been knitting a little, working on my scarf that should have been finished ages ago!
Another ball of wool to use then it should be at a length I like.
This little chap is Hedwig,, Liz kindly sent him to me for Christmas. I have tried several times to get a nice photo of him,, but he doesn't like his picture taken!!! He is a pincushion, but I can't stick pins in him!
At the weekend DH and I went to Trago Mills in Devon, near to Newton Abbot for a walkabout and some shopping.

It is a Leisure Park with shops and Kiddie rides, and small animals. But it is always peaceful, no matter how many people there are. I did come back with some tapestry wool and some blue linen,, just cos I liked it! Off to sort my sewing room out,, it has been a bit of a dumping ground just lately!
